What’s the gig’s dirty secret?
My dirty secret is that I work from home in a corner of my apartment and still have a part-time job. The jewelry business may look glamorous on the outside, but there’s still hard boot-straping work underneath! A lot of us are small, one-person businesses, putting out to the world what we love to do.
What’s your secret weapon?
One of my secret weapons is a pair of wire cutters I bought ten years ago that I still use today in my jewelry designs. Invest in good equipment, they will save you money in the long run!
I think the secret to getting started is to love what you do, have pride in your product, and be open to the feedback your customers will give you. Listen, learn, and have a thick skin!
