As one of the stars of Bravo’s “Real Housewives of New York City,” Heather Thomson is used to being in tight situations. But with her new line of shapewear, Yummie Tummie, she’s turned those “tight” situations into profit…and has nabbed a leading role as a successful entrepreneur. We caught up with her at Super Saturday, a recent garage sale event in New York benefiting the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, to learn more about the line and her shopping secrets.
Recessionista: Do you have any shopping strategies for today?
Heather: Quick. You gotta move quick! Swift!
R: Anything in particular you’re looking for today? What’s your latest fashion obsession?
H: Well, I’ve gotta say it…it sounds a little cheesy but it’s the truth: Yummie Tummie, my shapewear brand. I don’t go anywhere without it. I love it. This dress I’m wearing is clingy and I’m all, you know, “tight and right.” So it’s my number one go-to fashion accessory.
R: Well we’re sold, because you look a-MAZ-ing. Where can we find it?
R: Sounds like a good deal to us! Where do you shop to find other good deals?
H: I hit the sales! Before you even look in the store, go to the sale rack first. Then you won’t be tempted. If you find what you need and it’s on sale then you walk away happy!
